# How to Prepare:
01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
03 - In a large bowl, beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
04 - Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in pure vanilla extract.
05 - Alternately add flour mixture and whole milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Mix gently until just combined.
06 - Divide batter evenly into three bowls. Tint each bowl with a different pastel gel food coloring, mixing gently for a gradient ombre effect.
07 - Pour each colored batter into the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
08 - In a bowl, beat unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, then pure vanilla extract and 3 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream. Beat until fluffy, adding additional milk if needed for consistency. Divide frosting and tint with pastel gel coloring for ombre effect.
09 - Level cooled cake layers if necessary. Place the first layer on a serving plate, spread with buttercream, and repeat with remaining layers. Apply a thin crumb coat, chill for 15 minutes, then finish frosting, blending pastel shades for ombre appearance.
10 - Arrange edible flowers on top just before serving.
